Simian Mobile Disco - Species Out Of Control

UK production duo Simian Mobile Disco shared a characteristically trippy new music video today.  “Species Out of Control” visuals go from lonely road to the pits of electro-hell alongside the Londoners’ ever-expanding beat. The track itself comes from Simian Mobile Disco’s third album, 'Unpatterns'.

Snoop Dogg's Collaborative Song To Be Part Of Boys Noize Upcoming Album

Just over a month out from the October 2 release date, Techno DJ/producer Boys Noize has revealed some more details about his hotly-anticipated third album 'Out Of The Black'. It seems Boys Noize has collaborated with none other than Snoop Dogg or as he’s recently been reborn, Snoop Lion. The track "Got It" is set to feature an appearance from Snoop Dogg, and it’s the only collaboration we’ll find on 'Out Of The Black'.

Boys Noize
“I don’t like to have cheesy vocals on my songs, so we made one Rap track and one House track, I never did a remix for Lady Gaga or Britney Spears because I didn’t want to put my name next to something I think is shit.”

DJ Pierre Playing An Acid/Techno DJ Set at Boiler Room Los Angeles

Fascinated with everything electronic, Chicago’s DJ Pierre grew up tinkering with things. His interest in fixing everything from radios to watches soon led to him fiddling with a Roland 303 drum machine and in doing so he invented ACID music, known for its distinctive squelchy sound. In the video below, you can watch the fantastical DJ Pierre causing a veritable shit storm of nourishing Acid madness at Boiler Room Los Angeles, enjoy!

Toyota's Androgynous Techno TV Commercial

Senior executives at Toyota have either lost their minds or will go to any length to bring eyeballs to their new product cars that in the past few years have been anything but exciting. This new TV commercial follows a similar zany tact taken for the iQ in the busty bikini babes and milk ads. But this new TV commercial for the Auris isn’t using busty women, in fact it’s the opposite. The topless androgynous model is, apparently, 19-year-old Stav Strashko, lol.  A male model who was born in the Ukraine and modeled women’s clothing before. The song that accompanies the ad is without doubt Acid Techno music!

D-R-U-N-K - I Don´t Need To Sleep

"I Dont Need To Sleep" is a twisted, haunting excursion into the darker realms of Techno, as the music spirals beyond the stratosphere anchored by a hypnotic analogue driven pulse. Oly Grasset (D-R-U-N-K) explains, "It's about a computer speech synthesizer female voice who realises that she sounds human but doesn't need anything us humans need, so she demonstrates to us how impossible life will be if we didn't sleep, eat, drink and so on." Music video directed by Frederic Grasset.

Paris Hilton Makes Another Attempt At DJ Career After Disastrous Debut

Paris Hilton Debut on the decks in Brazil  last month was universally panned, but the hotel heiress was spinning records once again last night. The Gotha Club in the glitzy resort of Cannes in the South of France, which has also played host to the likes of Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa and Akon, featured the aspiring mix-mistress among their usually star-studded line-up. Wearing a black and white tiger motif mini dress, black sunglasses and fingerless gloves, the socialite appeared to be enjoying her mix even if the crowd of middle-aged men at the Palm Beach Casino club were unmoved, LOL.

Kraftwerk Perform New Japanese Version Of Their Classic Hit "Radioactivity"

A month ago, Kraftwerk’s new version of their 1975 song “Radioactivity” was sung in Japanese language at an anti-nuclear concert known as No Nukes. It was sung with a new set of Japanese lyrics including the line “Ima sugu yamero” (STOP IT NOW), proved to be the climax of the event, which attracted thousands of Japanese to Makuhari Messe Center. Proceeds from the event went to the Goodbye to Nuclear Power Plants movement, spearheaded by Nobel prize-winning author Kenzaburo Oe, Academy Award-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, whistleblowing journalist Satoshi Kamata and other prominent figures. The event was also aimed at increasing signatures for a large-scale anti-nuclear power petition. Check out Kraftwerk performing live below.

President Barack Obama's Campaign Targeting DJs

Presidential campaigns have long micro-targeted messages for potential voters. But the Obama campaign's newest initiative is competing with more sensory overload than is usual: The campaign is going after the electronic dance music scene. Given the relative youth and pan-cultural appeal of electronic dance music, the growing scene seems to be a natural audience for Obama's message. In other words, if you're a DJ you should vote for Mr. Obama!

Moby Sells His Hollywood Hills Castle For $3 Million

If you've got the cash to hand, you too can live like a superstar DJ by nabbing Moby's pad for a cool $3.695 million. It's being reported that the famous American DJ has put his castle in the Hollywood Hills West area of Los Angeles up for sale. The castle, designed in the Hollywood Regency style, was built in 1926 and features three bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a pool, and 3,700 square feet of living space. Sounds like an absolute bargain to us. What's more, Moby looks to have made a shrewd investment. The castle was recorded as being bought in 2008 for $2.95 million, meaning a sale would leave the 46-year-old with a tidy profit. Last year, Moby revealed he treated an acid-high intruder to breakfast and gave him a sweatshirt and some money before calling the cops.

McDonalds Is Now Hiring DJs

Some people think it's funny and some others think it's strange, but this is real! The world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants McDonalds is now hiring DJs to entertain their customers. This new "idea" of hiring DJs has just been seen at some restaurants in America, but the new strategy will be applied internationally soon. Well, personally, I don't know if this is going to be a benefit for them, but if you didn't get the chance to play in a club, now you can apply for a DJ job at McDonalds, LOL.
