Nu Disco / History /

I have always been a fan of Nu Disco, actually it was the first music genre I started to listen as a teenager in the early 2000s (Daft Punk, Santos, Mirwais, Simian Mobile Disco, Justice, etc.) Nu Disco is still an underground music style, and a few group of people actually know what this music style represents. Today the style of Nu Disco is growing slowly in the music market, and in the future this will get more mainstream attention. It is now very popular in Europe, specially in France, and it is also known in Australia and in the UK. People from New York City & L.A. love this style of music too.

Nu Disco is a 21st century Dance music genre associated with a renewed interest in 1970s and early 1980s Disco music. According to my investigation Nu Disco was born in 2002, and by mid-2008 was used by record shops such as the online retailers Juno and Beatport. These online music shops often associate it with re-edits of original-era Disco music, as well as with music from European producers who make dance music inspired by the American Disco era, and other genres popular in the late 70s and early 80s.
