Gesaffelstein - Pursuit [Video]

Gesaffelstein aka Mike Levy, released his Techno track "Pursuit" some months ago in June.

The video was shot on a camera constantly backing away from a series of odd images — a squad of clones carrying assault rifles, an eerily silent knighting ceremony, a bare-breasted woman screaming wordlessly at the lens.

It's a perfect fit for the song itself: a driving, dark, destructive beat punctuated by what sounds like the anguished screams of a dying robot. Watch it now!

Ordinary Childhood - No Love (Extended Version)

"No Love" by Ordinary Childhood is Hip Hop + Reggae at its best! The vocals are equally intense, making "No Love" a pretty heavenly listening experience. It's a low-end rumble of Electronica and Reggae, in other words, a killer track!

An impressive experiment for sure, which is now available on  iTunes, Amazon and major distributors.

UK's Oldest DJ Is Now Retiring at the Age of 72

Britain’s oldest DJ is hanging up his headphones and taking his final spin – at the age of 72. Legendary DJ Derek has starred in music videos with EDM stars and played with groups. But after decades at his decks the aging star is calling it a day.

He said: “This New Year’s Eve will be last gig I do there and will also be my last ever gig. I turned 72 this month and while I’m reasonably healthy it’ll be nice to do some travelling without carting my gear around.”

Derek Morris, from St Paul’s, Bristol, gave up work as an accountant at chocolate makers Cadbury after 18 years to become a full time DJ. He is known for his Disco collection and has played at some of the UK’s largest festivals including Glastonbury and The Big Chill.

Derek plans to spend his retirement travelling and visiting more of his beloved local pubs and listening to his favourite music at home.

'Wrong Cops' NEW Movie Trailer Revealed!

I'm posting the new trailer because the music for the film comes from Mr. Oizo and Justice, two talented and renowned electronic music producers.

The film presents a group of really shitty cops who break the law more often then they actually do any police work. Each has a little story that gets them through the film. The easiest cop to enjoy is Mark Burnham.

He spends most of the film dealing with an innocent neighbor he accidentally shot while trying to keep a surprisingly adorable Marilyn Manson from escaping his house. This neighbor guy, who spends the whole film lying around on the verge of death, probably represents the film's biggest story-line.

Watch the new extended trailer below!

A DJ “drop” is an audio file that is used to give hype to a DJ mix. A DJ “drop” can also be a sound effect, a blip of a song or a customized audio identification. DJs use “drops” to create a sense of energy in their live sessions and club mixes.

Mr. Oizo - De Luca

The soundtrack to Mr. Oizo's next film, Wrong Cops, will see release in early 2014. The release falls somewhere between an OST and a best-of compilation. My favorite track from this material is called "De Luca", an Electro/Techno banger you must hear before it gets too mainstream, LOL.

It somehow reminds me of Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction".

Jimmy Edgar - Strike

Jimmy Edgar's music is like the aural equivalent of those mid-'80s "sexy robot" airbrushed pop art posters by Hajime Sorayama — the sound of a sleek digital future when machines have the same erotic desires as human beings.

Electro-deviant Jimmy Edgar has linked up once again with his JETS partner Machinedrum to launch the Ultramajic imprint. I'm loving this Techno track entitled "Strike". A peak-time heater  with its metallic delay vibrations and relentlessly nagging jack.

You better stop the things that you do, and start dancing to this fuckin' jam!

MK feat. Alana - Always (Route 94 Remix)

Originally released back in 1992, to this day "Always" manages to incite more dancefloor revelry than the vast majority of modern day House productions. MK has collaborated with Route 94, an elusive new name in the Deep House scene, here provides the first new version of "Always" adding to an already impressive string of quality productions under his belt. The remix adeptly combines the original vibe with today's fuller production aesthetics, resulting in some serious attitude thanks to its bassy garage vibes, chiming synth lead and excellent utilisation of Alana's vocals.

Paris Hilton has claimed she has overtaken the likes of ex-boyfriend Afrojack, Kaskade and Jersey Shore's DJ Pauly D to become one of the world's top five highest earning disc jockeys.

The 32-year-old blonde heiress made the outrageous claim as she chatted with a photographer at an airport in Los Angeles.

She said: 'I love it. I'm one of the Top 5 in the world, so...'

Source close to the former reality television personality to the website that Paris makes between $100k and $350k per hour when she plays a set.

However, she would still have to be doing a lot off gigging to break into the prestigious Top 5, which features Calvin Harris in first place with $46 million, Tiesto in second with $32m, David Guetta in third with $30m, Swedish House Mafia in fourth with $25m, and finally Deadmau5 at $21 million.

Azari & III Ex-Vocalists Resurrect Ace of Base's "All That She Wants"

Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool AKA Andrew Stanley and Matthew Handley, land on the formidable Dim Mak imprint with another sizable anthem that takes on an all-time dance classic and resurrects it most unlikely fashion. A collaboration between four of the brightest minds in electronic music, it’s a truly momentous release for all involved and one that’s set to be inescapable in 2014.

"All That She Wants" sees them reinterpret the Ace Of Base classic in cool, brooding, Deep House style with the help of former Azari & III vocalists SYF and Fritz Helder - their first piece of work since the Canadian outfit recently disbanded. Almost unrecognisable from the kitsch original, its slo-mo charm and enchanting vocals are utterly irresistible!

Hot Since 82 feat. Alex Mills - Shadows [Video]

Deep House DJ Hot Since 82 debuts "Shadows" music video. The new single is part of the artist's upcoming album 'Little Black Book'. Honestly, I don't like the video, somehow it reminds me of the Hostel movie + the song is a little bit too slow for my taste, however I love the vocals by Alex Mills. What do you guys think about it?

Illuminati Shut Down Music Blog Aggregator Elbows

Hey guys! The Illuminati is real and it's everywhere, especially in the stupid world of Pop music (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, David Guetta etc.)

We already know that today nobody likes Pop music, and it seems that their own commercial interests were affected by music blogs like us who discover indie/underground music every single day.

I got a very confidential information that the Illuminati within the Pop music industry were responsible for the deletion of Music Blog Aggregator Elbows (http://elbo.ws/).

After almost 10 years of operations, the leading music blog aggregator Elbows and all the thousands of innocent music bloggers were silenced through this media. The popular website used to unify music trends and allowed music lovers to have one portal to discover new music.

Anyway, the battle has not ended, and the good news is that a friend of us is creating a new music blog aggregator, which will come back to life pretty soon!  I will reveal all the details, stay tuned and follow us on Twitter!

Digital Radio Switchover May Not Happen Until 2020

Radio listeners in the UK will not be forced to go digital for several years after ministers warned too many people are still using analogue devices. The radio industry was pushing for a date to be set for all national stations to be available only on digital radios by 2020. But UK culture minister Ed Vaizey warned that only a third of radio listening is via digital devices and no move would be made to switch off the FM services until the figure rises to 50 per cent.

Techno & House Music Makes You Think Everyone Is Happy

Listening to Techno and House music can be one way to put you in a good mood on the way into work. But beware! it can also make you think that everyone else feels just as happy as you do.

Researchers have found that listening to different types of music on an iPod or car stereo can dramatically change the way we think about others.

The findings suggest that listening to upbeat music can make your day more bearable - and create the illusion that you are surrounded by happy, contented people.

Lead researcher Dr. Joydeep Bhattacharya tested the effects of 120 electronic dance music songs on mood and perception. His team played 46 volunteers 15-second snatches of sounds before showing them a selection of faces and asking them to decide if each one was happy, sad or neutral.

Listening to sad music made the volunteers more likely to judge the faces as sad, while upbeat music made the faces appear happier.

Panasonic Lumix GM1 Commercial Features Song "Baby F-16" By Panteros666

The Features are really hittin’ it hard these days when it comes to rakin’ in the mailbox money. Some weeks ago, Panteros666's second promotional single “Baby F-16”  got featured prominently in the minute-long Panasonic Lumix GM1 spot below.

This song entitled "Baby F-16"  is the latest release from Bromance Records, a four-to-the-floor brew of sporadic female shouts and heavy 80s-mimicking synth hits that encourage you to buy the new camera and wear nice clothes. LOL

There are bad words one can say about the Panasonic Lumix GM1 but they're really not worth utterance. This is a beauty of a camera. It's small, it's light, it's solid, it's good looking and it still manages to bring home the photographic goods in all reasonable light conditions.

Electro WOW Music Awards 2013

BEST TECHNO TRACK
Panteros666 - Hyper Reality
"Hyper Reality" acts as a slow progressive intro into what proves to be a game changer, sporting '90s rave chord progressions, trippy futuristic synths and vocal samples.

BEST DEEP HOUSE TRACK
Marlon Hoffstadt & Dansson - Shake That
Swaggering over a fluid 3-note bassline, the vocal ties the track together with some deep, infectious hooks that guide the release’s movement. Complete with some questionable lyrics and playful offbeats, “Shake That” is a nice bomb to have in your collection.

BEST DISCO TRACK
Boe & Zak - Loop For Love
This is an epic Henry-Street-Disco-House track with soaring strings and an instantly captivating vibe. This will haunt you for months. You've been warned!

BEST REMIX
Josh Butler- Got A Feeling (Bontan Remix/Pleasurekraft Edit)
Bontan brings a whole new dimension to the original mix with a clear jackin beat replacing the sophisticated sounds found in other versions.

BEST ALBUM
Hot Natured - Different Sides of the Sun
Jamie Jones, Luca C, Lee Foss and Ali Love display their smarts with delirious and dashing big tunes that draw on Deep House, Detroit Techno and Soul. The rest of the album is just as sassy, with beautifully drawn synths, sunshine grooves and silky minimal twists to the fore.

Vonairs New Swedish Big Room EDM Duo And Their 1st Single "Fucamo"

Petter Andersson (DJ PSON) and Elias Dahlgren (Dahlgren) together under the name Vonairs started DJing and producing House music when they met at the music school SAE Institute in Stockholm late 2012.

Based in a studio in Östermalm, Stockholm, they are now working on a lots of brand new unique House music to be made in Sweden.

Vonairs is a dynamic and newly composed House music duo who mainly produces Progressive and Big Room House music. The new single "Fucamo" is unique House music to be produced by Swedish DJs.

It's a Big Room track with two different, massive drops and would fit at any big nightclub and electronic-festival in the world. Se more in the interview below.

#1 Thanks for taking the time to do this interview Vonairs. Tell us a bit about yourself, your name, age, where you're from and an interesting fact if you like...

We're two Swedish guys, Petter and Elias, in our early twenties who love to play and produce House music. we live for it. At the moment we live in Stockholm, Sweden, most of the time in our studio (haha). When we're not in the studio we spend time on the nightclubs or at the gym, gotta work on them biceps for all the fistpumping done on stage.

#2 - Is there a story behind your name Vonairs?

Not really, when we decided to start produce housemusic together I (Elias) just thought of a catchy band-name and Vonairs crossed my mind pretty quick. Petter and the other guys in the crew liked it and here we are now. I think it's cool. Vonairs is like ”victory on air”.

#3 - How long have you been a band?

Since March 2013.

#4 - What first got you interested in forming House music duo?

I (Petter) think it was around 2008 when I first heard "555" with Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello and was completely stoked. Yeah, around that year for me (Elias) too. We have always been interested in music overall but it's just something special with housemusic, it's so motivating, every song can mean so much in different ways to the crowd, so much energy.

#5 - What/who inspires your music?

The feeling when you making a melody/song from head to reality is magic. And when people around you confirmes that its a great melody/song, something that you, together, made from your mind... Probably one of the best feelings you can get.

#6 - Do you see being in a band as a career, or as a hobby?

Vonairs is definitely our career together.

#7 - What are you trying to do with your music? Do you want to help your community? Are you trying to get rich? What is your goal for your music?

House music is what we love, we want to deliver great music to the world, that is what we live for. Of couse we want to be able to provide ourselves on the music we create, but rich should just be a bonus.

#8 - Have you ever performed live? How did it feel?

ROSE Nightclub , one of the biggest and crowdiest in Stockholm, crazy gig with a great crowd. We droped our upcoming track "Fucamo" and the reaction from the people in the crowd was great. Hard to describe how great that felt.

#9 - Do you have any kind of management, publishing or distribution team behind you? If so what are their responsibilities?

Yeah, we have a crew behind us doing management and many things more. We're a really good team, both as friends and as colleagues.

#10 - What are some accomplishments that you have achieved, and are most proud of?

I think we're most proud of the to upcoming tracks we're soon releasing, "PITA" and "Fucamo".

#11 - What one tip would you give to other aspiring independent artists?

Just work hard, believe in yourself and don't give up, it's a bumpy ride even for Tiesto sometimes!

#12 - Where can we hear your music online?

You can catch Vonairs on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud and at our web vonairs.com from January 2014.

#13 - What projects are you working on at the moment?

Right now we working on a remix on "This Is The Song" by Nause, and two other melodic tracks.

#14 - Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years time?

The dream and a goal is that Vonairs is one of the biggest House music creators/DJs in the world by that time, really!

#15 - Do you have any shoutouts you want to give?

Keep you ears wide open for many big track coming up 2014!

Thanks again Vonairs for doing this interview.

O’Howe’s record of success began as a DJ at the tender age of 17. Over the course of his career, he has been signed to numerous indie labels, played alongside A-level talent and achieved hits on the internationally acclaimed Beatport dance charts. In 2006, under his self-launched Electro/Techno imprint Don’t Look Productions, he first made noise by signing remixes by Toronto’s queen Sydney Blu and club legend Charles Feelgood. He also aligned with Carlo Lio’s legendary label Rawthentic Music by signing his first track to the growing Techno label.

That same year, O’Howe’s Electro original “Sounds Like Music” hit No. 30 on the Beatport Top 100 Electro chart, followed in 2009 with remix of “Dr. Funkenstein” for label Play Digital by monster EDM act Deadmau5.

His next effort was the launch of DJ and production company Unit 42, a collaboration with friend and fellow DJ Mark Grimace. The first release “Walking The Walk” returned O’Howe to the dance charts, along with a second remix from Charles Feelgood. In 2010, the firm released EP “Trade Deadline,” which reached No. 10 on the Beatport Techno chart. Follow-up full-length “Don’t Panic” achieved two more charted hits, including the title track again reaching No. 10.

Unit 42 has also signed remixes to DBR, EDEN Recordings and originals to Restricted Recordings, which spawned dance smashes “Won’t Stop” and “Not Alone” still making waves in the Tech House / Techno pool.

Want To Party Without Going Out? Have A Disco In Your Bath!

Want To Party Without Going Out? Have A Disco In Your Bath!
The Underwater Disco Lightshow is a floating device that projects a riot of colours on to the bottom and sides of the bathtub. It features a button that changes the patterns (some subdued, some dynamic), so you can alter the mood in an instant.

The gizmo's light sequences and pulsating effects are distorted by the water in the tub. It's battery-operated and waterproof, so with some music on in the background, you could almost feel like you're in a nightclub!

Mineo - Turn Out The Lights [Video]

I have discovered another monster release this time from Tom Dinsdale (ex-Audio Bullys) under his new project Mineo. Title track "Turn Out The Lights" is an intoxicatingly deep groover with a dense low riding bassline, punchy warm chords and an infectious dark male vocal adding a real standout element for the dancefloor. Watch the brand new video down here.

Shadow Child feat. Takura - Friday [Video]

Shadow Child lands his sparkling new single "Friday" featuring the stunning vocals of the fast rising Takura. The singer/songwriter is no stranger to UK ears having collaborated with massive names such as Chase & Status, Plan B, Sub Focus, Example, Jack Beats and Kano. On "Friday" Takura delivers a huge feel-good, crossover chorus hook that complements Shadow Child's on point, driving, Deep House beats perfectly. Watch this cool music video below!

Glamorous Photos Show Club Culture In 80's Ibiza

Ibiza in the early 1980s was home to three of the most important nightclubs in the world: Ku was the world's largest outdoor discotheque, built around an Olympic sized swimming pool. Amnesia was the late night/early morning club and Pacha was the local discotheque that became a global superbrand.

The island has a history of hedonism. It was a heaven for liberal and alternative Spaniards during Franco's rule. In the Seventies, it was a key point on the hippy trail. In the Eighties, package holidays, the yacht set and the clubbers arrived.

These photographs were taken at club Ku in 1984, enjoy them!
