A 73-year-old Polish grandmother is refusing to let retirement get in the way of
her love of DJing. Reuters reports Wika Szmyt, a.k.a. DJ Wika, spends three days a week mixing
Disco, Rumba and Samba tracks for a mostly elderly audience at a club in Warsaw. The former youth counselor says she feels as though she is giving those out
on the dance floor a new lease on life. DJ Wika taught herself how to use sound mixing gear and says she has earned
the respect of several more experienced and younger DJs.

"Dancing changes their mood for the better, more fun. They don't think about
passing, about preparing a gravestone and planting flowers on it. They think
about life, and that's what music gives you. That's what music gives you!"
