Parachute Youth- Can't Get Better Than This

Music Video by Parachute Youth "Can't Get Better Than This" shot by French filmmaker Julien Paolini in Burkina Faso → Africa. The creative House music producers Mathew Gill & John Courtidis a.k.a. Parachute Youth, debuted a few weeks ago their debut EP 'Can't Get Better Than This', which includes a remix from the talented Sam La More. I would describe their music style as refreshing House music intended for the young generation. Enjoy it!

The previous record was set by DJ King from Brazil who played non-stop Rap music for 5 days.

It will take months for Guinness to review all of the evidence and award Smokin Joe Mekhael with a brand new certificate. Despite this, he is now "The Marathon DJ Champion Of The World" and he's ready to receive his championship belt within a few weeks!

BBC Radio 6 To Revive Vinyl On New Year's Day

BBC Radio 6 has announced that it will revive vinyl on New Year's Day only. The alternative radio station will use turntables for every song it plays next Sunday on January 1st, 2012.  Station editor Paul Rodgers said:

"In a world dominated by digital music, vinyl is a format still close to the hearts of many music lovers and increased sales demonstrate its enduring appeal."

Most BBC and commercial stations phased out vinyl in favour of CDs in the 1990s, before more recently switching to the digital format.

Thieves forced the front door of the apartment, located in the third district of Paris; fortunately, Mr. Sinclar was not at that time at home & his life wasn´t in danger. This week, the Judicial Police in Paris have opened an investigation to determine the exact location of the burglars.

Behringer iNook Boom The World's Most Expensive & Loudest iPod Dock

The name Behringer might give you a clue, being an award-winning innovator of affordable professional audio and music equipment. In order to celebrate the launch of 50 new consumer audio products, Behringer’s iNuke Boom is proud to be the loudest iPad, iPod and iPhone dock that anyone and everyone would have ever come across at CES next year in Las Vegas.

As with anything and everything in life, there is a price to pay, and this particular one will actually make your banker cry to the tune of $29,999.99. I guess it also makes perfect sense, considering you would need to pay such a behemoth of a price tag for monster sound, not to mention the fact that this puppy is really, really huge, as it measures 8 feet wide and 4 feet in height, tipping the scales at more than 700 pounds, and pumping out more than 10,000 Watts of power.

Umek & Christian Cambas- Heroes Of The Night (Pleasurekraft Remix)

Collaborations are always meant to bring out the best from the parties involved and this is exactly the case once again for Tech House heroes Umek & Christian Cambas. Men of the moment, Pleasurekraft, turn the original mix upside down and drive it to warped territory with their signature sample mangling and bigger-than-huge production, while wacky percussion and menacing sub bass add to the bouncy mayhem.

Techno Church In Sweden Attracts Hundreds Of Young People

A church in Stockholm, Sweden has organised a mass set to Techno music to combat dwindling attendance rates. Reuters reports the initiative has attracted hundreds of young people to All Saints Church. Vicar Olle Idestrom said it has been encouraging to see the youth spending their Friday night at church.

'We didn't quite expect this to become the resurrection it has. It has truly become a big deal. We are very grateful for that, it is fantastic that people who wouldn't usually attend church wants to celebrate mass on a Friday evening,' he told Reuters.

The vicar is a fan of Techno himself and wanted to use modern music to celebrate Christianity. He plans to hold more Techno masses in the new year and even take the idea on tour.

Well, I'm agnostic but this church looks pretty interesting, don't you agree with me? lol

Moby Breaks Down Some Of The Terminology Of Electronic Dance Music

For new fans of electronic dance music, the terminology is a maze of genres and sub-genres. Let's let Moby help us sort them all out:

EDM: "The first thing to know," Moby says, "is that no one calls it electronic dance music. The term is EDM, and it's a catch-all term for the different forms of electronic music."

BPM: "All EDM is rooted in bpms (beats per minute)," says Moby, who set a Guinness World Record for fastest tempo in a single with his 1,000-bpm song Thousand. "So Trance music is faster, House music is slower."

Dubstep: "It's a descendant of Jungle, an early '90s, very fast form of EDM with Reggae and Breakbeat influences. Jungle morphed into Drum and Bass, and then there was an offshoot of that, two-step, which slowed the bass lines way down," Moby says. "Heavy Metal and Hip-Hop, interestingly, share the same tempo, around 75 bpm. Dubstep is an amalgamation of the two."

House & Techno: "They're both offshoots of '80s Disco," Moby says. "House has a slower bpm, Techno is faster." Both House and Techno adhere to a steady 4/4 drum pattern.

Breakbeat: This rhythm breaks up 4/4 patterns with syncopation and is often used in Dubstep. "It uses a lot of samples and is not as fast as House music, but faster than Hip-Hop," Moby says. "The Chemical Brothers made it very popular, but I'd credit Fatboy Slim with bringing it to the mainstream."

Acid: "It's not the drug," Moby says. "Acid specifically refers to the sound of a bass line, and it's very synthetic. It was a sound created in the late '80s with the Roland TB 303 bass synthesizer, which has a very harsh sound." Acid can also be used to distinguish between subgenres, such as Acid House and Acid Breaks.

Electro: "It's meant so many things in the last 30 years. Now it means futuristic electronic music and was used to describe Kraftwerk and Afrika Bambaataa.

I:Cube- Transpiration (Original Mix)

I:Cube finally triumphed over the chimera and delivered a new EP Lucifer en Discothèque as a prelude to his forthcoming album. After 15 years of an almost constant production, how can any artist possibly avoid the pitfall of repetition while re-inventing his style? Cube delivers a masterly answer! As its name implies, "Transpiration" (perspiration in English) is sure to make dance floors sweat around the globe.

Whats fascinating with these new tracks, especially "Transpiration", is the way Chaix manages to reconcile the old with the new, his 15-year heritage of production with all the recent technological developments. This track reveals various influences, for instance Todd Terry, Godfather of the 90s NY House, as well as Sheffield rave parties of the same era yet revisited without an ounce of pomposity.
