Kraftwerk And The Electronic Revolution [Documentary]

As innovative as they are influential, Kraftwerk's contribution to the development of electronic music since their formation in 1970 remains unsurpassed. Having inspired everyone from Bowie to Coldplay, Siouxsie to Radiohead, this bizarre collective have also proven partly responsible for entire genres to develop - Electro, House and Synth Pop to name but three. This documentary reviews the career and music of Kraftwerk, from their inception in the late 1960s (as pre-Kraftwerk ensemble Organization), through their most celebrated period in the mid 1970s, and culminating with their resurgence during the 1980s with the popularity of Synth Pop and Electro. The film further explores how Kraftwerk both fitted in and pulled away from the electronic wing of what is often lazily referred to as 'Krautrock'. Sparing time also for many of the groups' contemporaries from the same field, and tracing the unfolding of electronics in German contemporary music generally, this program presents a fascinating story previously untold on film.

Does Sex Sell Music?

Nothing has changed in the last years, sex still sells music, and that is obviously shown in this poll. Everybody knows that erotic imagery is commonly used in videos, album artworks, flyers and posters. I´m not against it, but I believe that the music industry is not considering talent anymore. Sex is the most powerful tool in marketing, and has been used to attract people´s attention since 1885. Open your your mind, don´t judge music because of the sexy body of a singer, I would suggest to pay more attention to her/his voice and the team that is behind production. For example, in the latest music video by Global Deejays "Bring It Back" there are a lot of sex scenes, and it became instantly #2 in the Breakout Billboard Dance Chart. Ooh Yeah this world is going crazy!

Spiller- Pigeonman's Revenge

It has been four years since Spiller released "Sola" and "Rambo Lips", he's now back with "Pigeonman's Revenge", an epic House/Instrumental track that obsessively builds for 9:30 minutes. The title is a mispelled tribute to the old school House classic by Mike Delgado, and a reference to Spiller's hometown Venice; once a glorious city, now a colony of tourists and pigeons!

Is Afrojack Working on Paris Hilton´s New Album?

Only two people matched with the correct answer (20%), in fact this is totally true. One of the greatest DJs of the world, Afrojack is producing songs for Paris Hilton´s upcoming album, due to be released in 2012. Actually her first single "Good Time" has already been leaked on the web. To be honest with you it sounds pretty good!

I understand many of you will be disappointed with these news, but I think she deserves one more chance.  Pictures speak a thousand words, apparently the Hilton heiress is not only working with Afrojack; she has also been seen with Deadmau5 and Tiesto a few days ago. WTF, here is the proof!

Paris Hilton arrives at Le Bourget Airport to board a private plane.
Hilton was accompanied by Dutch DJ Afrojack.

Laidback Luke vs Example- Natural Disaster

One of the best songs of the year "Natural Disaster" produced by Laidback Luke and sung by UK rapper Example. This new tune got huge support from Radio 1 (Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Judge Jules), and many more. The music video is about electronic music addiction, a common symptom which many of us have. "Natural Disaster" will be released on 16th October on Ministry of Sound Recordings.

Mike Candys & Evelyn feat. Patrick Miller- One Night In Ibiza

Mike Candys is just another DJ who hides his face like Deadmau5 or Daft Punk. The brand new  Electro single "One Night In Ibiza" reminds me of DJ Antoine´s "Welcome to St Tropez". Both of them incorporate Rap and electronic beats, and the lyrics talk about a fun destination. I like that!

John Dahlback & Henrik B- Senses

Sweden's got some spice to offer to the global House scene. If you're into silky smooth, seductive melodies, deep-bassed beats and dark Acid House inspired anthems, let John Dalhbäck and Henrik B do what they do best. Blow the roof off with their collab "Senses", a strong anthem that keeps the clubbers going, grooving and unfolding as it builds towards a melodic break.

Ferry Corsten- Check It Out

Otherwise known as System F, in addition to using nearly 30 other (less prolific) pseudonyms, Rotterdam, Netherlands-born DJ and producer Ferry Corsten rose to prominence in the late '90s as one of Europe's top Trance jocks, highlighted by an anthem-filled appearance on Ministry of Sound's first Trance Nation album. A few weeks ago, Ferry Corsten released his latest single entitled "Check It Out". The new tune sounds completely different from his previous productions, and  I feel happy for him because now he´s developing modern Electro music.

Gala- Freed From Desire (Klaas Remix)

Gala, the name is enough to gamble a big stake when you know the cards of the other players! "Freed From Desire" one of the major world hits in Eurodance history. Five million plus singles sold worldwide, a few thousand compilations since the original release and 2011 is the 15th Anniversary since that original release. It was 1996,  Do It Yourself  was still a young label and still didn't know it was going to release one of the biggest hit ever. The new version of this song got an Electro remix treatment by DJ/producer Klaas.
