Is Armin Van Buuren Still The #1 DJ Of The World?

Poll #33 August 22nd, 2011
Trance DJ/producer Armin Van Buuren has been selected in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 as the #1 DJ of the world. According to DJMag´s annual top 100 list, he is more popular than Afrojack, David Guetta and Tiesto. I couldn´t believe the fact that Armin Van Buuren got so many fans in the world, so I decided to make this poll, in order to find the truth.

Finally, the shocking results reveal that Armin Van Buuren is still the #1 DJ of the world  6 votes (60%). While, on the other hand, just (30%) of us disagree with this perspective. Now I must confess, we were wrong by judging Trance music as a dead genre;  Armin Van Buuren has been working hard to make Trance music strong in different times/places, which is admirable and a good example to follow.

Kim Kardashian "Jam (Turn It Up)" Video Teaser

"Jam (Turn It Up)" was released more than six months ago. But because of a lack of interest music executives decided not to air the video. The promo sees the balmy socialite crawling along the floor in a pair of rubber hotpants. She then suggestively rolls around before shaking her bum into the camera and licking her lips. And now it has sneaked on to the internet, I'm sure you´ll like the fact this song is totally Electro. Watch the exclusive video teaser below.

Avicii- Fade Into Darkness

Watch the latest music video from Avicii "Fade Into Darkness". Tim Bergling a.k.a. Avicii is now ready to make his debut in the world of commercial dance music. A few weeks ago there was a resolution over the legal dispute between Swedish producer Avicii and British singer Leona Lewis. Apparently, Lewis was set to release a song called "Collide" which sounds similar to Avicii´s "Fade Into Darkness". Both artists made a confidential agreement with their record labels and the problem was finally solved.

Is Trance Music Dead?

Poll #31 August 8th, 2011
Good news! Trance is not considered as a dead music genre according to the (66%) of music fans who visit this website. To be honest with you, I actually thought Trance was out of fashion in our days, but that´s because I am not used to listen this type of music. However, I have to recognize that I was a huge fan of Trance a long time ago, where melodies and lyrics where more important than a catchy bassline.

Trance is a genre of electronic music which became a world sensation during the early 2000s. The most famous DJs & acts of this genre were Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Dash Berlin, Lasgo, Sylver, Milk Inc, etc. It is characterized by a tempo between 125 and 150 bpm, repeating melodic synthesizer phrases, and a musical form that builds up and breaks down throughout a track.
This music genre is still alive in some underground parties and clubs.

The Secret Life Of Robyn [Documentary Preview]

In this intimate portrait, documentary filmmaker and Magnum photographer Jim Goldberg goes beneath the surface of Electro Pop star Robyn’s veracious persona and quirky style. Filmed on Super 8 around her performance at this summer’s Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee, the short reveals the Grammy Award-nominee dancing with fans backstage, giving us insight into her undiluted energy. Known for his use of text-overlaid imagery, Goldberg has shot subjects as diverse as Somalian refugees, NYC sex workers, Condoleezza Rice and Dennis Hopper. Described as "direct, independent and intuitive" by the Swedish singer, he was granted unique access as the pair developed their concept collaboratively through an extensive exchange. Goldberg asked Robyn, "What's it like to be immersed in your world?" Her deeply personal monologue, layered with a mix of the single "Indestructible" from the 2010 album ´Body Talk', provides an unrestricted view of the sincere ambition behind her career. To be released soon in cinemas.

Do You Believe In Miracles?

Poll # 29 July 25th, 2011
Miracles are surprising events that aren´t  explicable by natural or scientific laws. Four people believe that a miracle is an event attributed to divine intervention (66%). While just two people, including myself  do not believe in miracles (33%), because we think there´s always a rational/scientific answer to these wonderful and unexpected events. In any case, I respect your opinion, and I just hope someday we can find the truth to these mysteries of life.
